He had jingled money in his pockets; traveling the world, he had romanced women and made love; he bought the cars he wanted and even gained fame with others admiring him.
Then one day he saw these things as “things” and his heart turned inside-out, hollow.
All was lost in a sudden collapse, a melting inward, down and down he slipped down a timeless corridor.
He forgot his name and fame,
forgot his income,
forgot his wardrobe,
forgot his childhood memories,
forgot his troubles,
forgot his friends and enemies.
In an instant, he died onto himself, and what was left of the poor pauper?

Freedom
